Dance Fever

Eversince I watched Dirty Dancing Havana Nights, I could not get ballroom dancing out of my head! I downloaded the songs from the movie, and played it endlessly.. in my car, in my ipod, in my pc! That's why last night, i was sooo glad because I was finally able to ballroom dance. Yey for me! But more on that later.. Because I wanna tell you guys about my belly dancing recital first. Ü

Chachi and I took the class just for fun. After a few sessions, the teacher approached us and asked us to dance at the Dance Studio's 1st year anniversary party. Yehey! So siyempre, pa star kami as always, we made sure we had the most bonnga costume (Thanks to Nico for pointing them out! Mwah! Ü) It was a fun fun night as we shimmied and danced in front of the audience. Thanks to our family and friends who went and cheered for us! Ü

After the mini-program and yummy mongolian buffet dinner, it was ballroom dancing time! Yehey! There were D.I.'s around, so Chachi, Auds & I took the opportunity to dance with them. It was fun! Sayang the D.I. was nothing like Diego Luna, that would have made the night much more fun.. hehehe Ü Then we danced with our boys, and we had a crazy time trying out all the dance moves like cha-cha, swing, fox trot, rumba etc. There was even a dance where we all lined up and just followed the instructions given by the song, like do 1 hop, slide to the left, then to the right, do a cha cha, hop 3x.. mga ganun! We were like in those tagalog movies na sabay-sabay lahat ng tao sumayaw.. imagine a dancefloor full of people following the instructions at the same time.. That's how we looked like Ü

We finished the night with some music and more food at Party Central near Abs-cbn. All in all, it was a great night filled with music, dancing and laughter. Haay.. if anyone knows where i can learn latin ballroom dancing, let me know pls! Ü

And of course, some pics:

Havana Nights

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Haay.. I just watched Dirty Dancing Havana Nights on DVD (Thanks Chach!) and can i just say, ang ganda! Well, the story itself wasn't really that great.. BUT the dancing! Wow.. I love love love it! Soooo Sexy!! Just look at the poster.. Wouldn't you love to be able to dance like that? If you ask me, I have ALWAYS wanted to be part of a routine like this, meaning, with a great looking & fantastic dance partner, plus all the fancy & sensual choreographed dance moves, the sexy dress, the killer heels, the huge dancefloor, the applause and the spotlight! While I was watching the movie, I felt awe, and the same time, inggit! Coz i wanted to be the American girl who got to dance with the hot Cuban guy (Diego Luna! Yey!).. hehe Ü

In this particular movie, they showcased latin ballroom dancing. Now, I've always loved ballroom dancing, but to add a latin twist to it.. it just made it sooo sexy! The choreography in the movie is so sensual.. and it's not the type that'll make you cringe at all! I mean, the scene at the local Cuban bar, wherein kulang na lang the people dancing do it right then and there, didn't look bastos at all. They showed that dancing is just really all about freeing yourself, breaking the rules.. and acting on what you really feel. They do not have inhibitions at all.. they just feel the music and dance with the beat. They let their arms, hands and feet do the talking. Too bad you can't really dance like that here in Manila.. Well, except in Bora, where you'll see near-naked men & women dancing without inhibitions.. Na-miss ko tuloy Bora! And all the crazy dancing we did there! Right El? Xax? Esh? Auds? Hehehe Ü

Girls

Yesterday, a good friend of mine left for the states.

We have known her plans of leaving for quite some time, but when the date of her departure neared.. its like everything just got crazy! We wanted to spend as much time with her as possible, so aside from our roadtrips to Alabang (Hey, we're all from the North!), we decided to throw her a despedida sleepover two days before she left! Ü

The sleepover was a lot of fun! And super tiring! Pano ba naman, we crammed a lot of activities! Ang daming ginawa! Ü It involved a lot of driving around the city (Poor me.. the designated driver! Hehe.. Joke lang girls! It was worth it!). We had lunch at Chiggy's Katipunan, swimming at Esh's place in La Vista, belly dancing class at New Manila, dinner at my place in Valle, hanging out at Xaymaca & eating at Mr. Kabab after.. which are both in Timog, then finally back at my place. But the night wasn't over yet! We stayed up until 6am, 'coz of the family computer, card games & of course, the kwentuhans. But in just 4 hours, we were up and running again! We went to Cubao to accompany El with her last minute shopping list. After all the shopping, we settled in the foodcourt while eating fries & ice cream. It occured to us then that that was the last time we would be eating with her. :( Haay.. it was so sad to say goodbye. We couldn't help but get teary eyed. I cried as soon as I stepped in the driver's seat. She's a good friend.. and I hate the thought of saying goodbye to someone who has been a constant companion of mine throughout my college years.

On my way to belly practice a while ago, I couldn't help but get teary eyed once again when i heard "Girls" by Destiny's Child. It just made me think of El, and of my other "girls" namely Chach, Esh & Auds.. and knowing that our videoke nights, poker nights, crazy nights won't be the same again.. since one of my "girls" would be missing in on the action. We're gonna miss you so much El!

Crazy Day

I had one crazy day yesterday!

Nico and I had this shoot to do for this project we're doing, and our call time is at 9am at Rustan's. He picked me up at 7:30, then we immediately made our way to the Makati traffic (Can i just say that I don't want to work there! It's too traffic for my taste!). We had about 30 minutes to spare, so we had a buffet breakfast at the Yum Yum Tree beside Rustan's grocery (Yummy!!!). Then we rushed to the shoot, and man, was it tiring! When we got there, there wasn't enough clothes that were pulled out, so we had to go to the U department and pick out the clothes ourselves. And that was the highlight of my day! It was sooo fun!! Picking out all the nice clothes, never mind that they were expensive and all that.. basta.. i had major fun checking out the new stuff! And I totally fell in love with this top and gypsy pants from XOXO.. haaay Ü Then off to the tiring part, where we styled the mannequins etc.. It was work work work for about 4 hours straight (We didn't take our lunch break coz we're still full from the heavy breakfast.) After all that, we went straight to Powerplant because i had to pick up my belly dancing scarf.. and in the 15 minutes we were there, I got to make singit shopping by buying a pair of shades from mng.. Yahoo! (I was so inggit with Chach's pair of shades from Mng, i even told her i'll buy hers na! haha) Ü Then back to my place, where we just rested for a bit.. then off to my belly dancing class with Chach in the evening. After all that shimmy-ing, Nico & I had a nice quiet dinner at Little Asia. It was nice to spend dinner this way, after a long and crazy and tiring day. So yun.. wala lang.. the point is.. wala, there is no point talaga! I just wanted to share this very tiring day with ya'll. Hehe Ü

Dear Eleanor

Hey El!

I just wanted to tell you that i am going to miss you terribly when you move to the states! As Nico told you last night, mababawasan kami ng isang HOT friend.. hehe. But of course, that's not the only reason why I'm going to miss you. I'm going to miss your craziness El! You are funny when you are somber, but even more so when you're drunk! Haha! I'm gonna miss you calling me on my cellphone when you're super drunk na! I'm gonna miss your game always attitude! Everytime I tell you let's do this, let's do that, super game ka palagi! That's why you're my bitch El! I can always count on you to dance with me, to drink with me, to laugh with me, to sing with me, to eat with me, and to cry with me. Haay.. I was thinking nga the other day how we became close.. like if there was one momentous occassion that defined our friendship.. but when you think about it, there is actually none! It's just that the more time that we spend together, the closer the two of us became. From videoke sessions, to dancing all night, to getting crazy drunk, to shopping sprees, to overeating.. haaay... bottom line is, I am gonna miss you soooo much! You better email me from time to time! Hindi na tayo macocomplete again.. :( And you know what, I truly believe that you will find someone who will treat you like the princess that you are. And for those who have hurt you, believe me, karma will definitely get them. I'm gonna make sure of that.. Hehe. Goodluck in the states dear, and I know you're gonna make it there! And I will see you in Los Angeles next year! I love you El! Ü

Your bitch,
Cathy

Hangover

If you're expecting to read about alcohol, headaches and tales of passing out, then I'm sorry to tell you but there would be nothing of that sort this time.
Its been more than a week since ive spent 4 wonderful, wonderful days at Club Noah, Palawan with my family and Nico. And wow, do i surely miss it! This hangover has definitely beaten that of Bora's! I miss waking up early, excited to do the day's activities. I miss the feeling of being under the water.. the diving spots in Palawan are just amazing! The best scuba dive that i have had so far! I miss kayaking with Nico and my whole family.. we would even race from our little "beach" back to our cabanas! I miss stuffing myself crazy with their everyday buffet meals.. shrimp kebab galore! I miss doing the different activities like fishing (I caught 2!!) & exploring the caves & lagoons! I miss hanging out with my whole family. Super bonding trip talaga.. Heck, there was even a time where in I was in the jacuzzi with Nico, my Kuya & Ala, and my parents! Haha!! Crazy!! Ü
Most especially, I miss being with Nico in such a beautiful place. Everything about it is just so breathtaking. Eventhough we were with my family, we got to spend some alone time together. Ü We'd go swimming at night, the pool all to ourselves. We'd walk around the resort, with the sounds of the ocean as our background music. I remember getting massages with Nico at this hut by the beach, and the only light that we had came from the moon. Now how romantic is that? A moonlit massage! Ü
Haay.. I wanna go back to Palawan! Take me there please! Ü
